Destin Beach Weddings is one of the best locations for a beach wedding. Flowers for a beach wedding can be Roses and or “Tropical”. Tropical is a choice of many brides and grooms.
A friend is getting married in the lobby of a nice hotel, and her reception will be in the ballroom. We are trying to think of a way to decorate the lobby AND ballroom with a “quaint Italian Chapel” feel (they are going to Italy for their honeymoon). The wedding is October 2nd- does anyone have suggestions?
I actually manage an online wedding registry and in some cases online registries use the term “wish list”to describe the list that the couple posts for their guests to look at. There are 2 types of online registries:
1. A store with online e-commerce. You basically register for the gifts you would normally scan at a store online.
2. http://www.weddingrepublic.com (and a few others with similar functionality) – you post a list (includes images, descriptions and price) of what you want.
We call it a “wish list” because it doesn’t have to be stuff. It can be anything from cooking lessons to money towards your honeymoon. Guests can purchase online and the cash for the gift goes directly to the couple (i.e. the couples gets the cash value of whatever they posted on their wish list)
I guess the terminology depends on the context of the website you’re looking at. Hope this helps!
After being engaged for a week my son asked if I minded if they got married in 10 days because her father was very sick. They got married and then he passed away. I helped alot with getting ready for the wedding. However the reception was at her parents house. We are neighbors but I had never spoken to them. Well they have spoken about me in public,(negatively). Now no one is doing anything in the way of a shower. The bride told me her sister says it would be in poor taste. I think they deserve even more than most as the rushed wedding was what her parents wanted and there were only 30 guests there. I want to give her a shower for just my family and friends and friends of the couple that live in the area. Her family lives in another state and this is a second home. There was talk about them having a shower where they live. The sister seems to not way to see the bride have anything. Not a good situition at all. What can or should I do. The bride and I are close and I wanted to suprise her but dont want to come off looking like a heel. Her family is large and two showers would not seem out of line in my opinion. HELP ME
Hmm… sticky situation.
The bottom line is this is for your son and daughter-in law. If you want to throw her a post wedding shower and the bride is not apposed to the idea, than throw her a luncheon.
All mother-in laws should be like you!
I was a bridesmaid in a wedding at the end of July. I threw a lingerie shower for the bride and ended up throwing the bachelorette party as well. The MOH didn’t help with much. 3 other girls offered to help host the lingerie shower. For the shower I spent over $200 + $25 for a gift. Two of the other girls also more to add to the gift- One payed $50 and the other payed $25, so the gift ended up being about $75. The third girl payed me $25 back for the gift. NO ONE helped pay for the actual shower. So I ended up spending a little over $200, which was way more than I had anticipated for such a small shower. Now the bridesmaid that payed $50 wants me to pay her back $25 for the gift. I guess I’m a little confused…Since there were 4 of us hosting the shower and the total cost was around $275 and I’ve payed $200 of that, why do I need to pay the bridesmaid 25 dollars more? I also payed about $50 for the bachelorette party. What is a polite way to say that I don’t feel like I should have to pay that extra $25?

I would like to find out what to say in my 25th wedding anniversary? I have to give a speech and I need some ideas. Thanks.
