Wedding Shower

I am throwing my sister and future brother-in-law a shower this Saturday. I asked people to RSVP on the invitation. Is it inappropriate to call those who have not RSVPd and ask if they plan to attend or not?

I hate the traditional dancing around the tables to win the centerpieces. Anyone have something different?

is it ok for a guy or the fiancee (a man) to attend a wedding shower that is being thrown for his fiancee (soon to be wife) its not the girlfriend one it is more of the family from both sides and parents friends one. thanks
