Is lingerie an okay gift on valentines day?

It’s not the only gift I intend on giving to my girl, it’s not trashy lingerie, I actually think she might like it. Little worried about the actual size so is a gift card just as good?

Gift card is good. Or if you have to guess the size, whatever your guess is, go smaller. You could also look in her panty drawer to get her size, look on a bra tag and panty tag. Once you have those, the store clerks should be able to help you.

i’d be kinda pissed off if my mad got me a gift card cuz it would make me feel like he didn’t put the effort into finding something that I like. But I think lingerie is a good gift, as long as your gonna get her something else too.
Buy lingerie but dont buy red, i hate red lingerie, and make sure it doesnt look cheap. I wouldnt give a gift card on valentines day, but her something.
i think lingerie is such a cute gift! i would love if my boy toy got me that. and if you’re going to go with the gift card, get her one to victoria’s secret so she can buy her own
no gift card,buy it and go with to exchange wrong size…or just take her to the store on v-day…

You could always take a peek in her undies drawer for sizes.

I think it is a great idea. You can always hint around what size she wears and get that out of her or you can get a gift card as u stated. I would love to have lingerie on Valentines Day! Good Luck!
yes its just as good, but get a bit nosey and find out her size by looking at the tags on her pjs
Sure. Valentines Day is a great day for intimate gifts that aren’t really appropriate any other day. However, I would definitely worry about the sizing! Too big and she might think you think she’s fat. Too small and she might feel bad. Plus, some styles aren’t really made for all women – their breasts or hips may not fit in properly. Gift certificates are always good, especially if you dress it up a little, like putting it in a box of candy or a bouquet of flowers.

No lingerie! I would even skip the gift card. How about a single red rose and a small box of candy? Gift cards are not at all personal or in the spirit of valentine’s day.
She might misinterpret it. It’s like giving her underwear. Though I am a guy, I have alot of female friends and relatives and once or twice such a topic was brought up and they didn’t like the idea. As I understand it, there might be a possibility that when you give a person underwear, or a lingerie for this instance, they might think that you are after something perverse and might be interpreted as a covert signal of asking for you know what. Just my personal thoughts.
gift cards kinda say "Here i don’t really know what u like so why don’t you pick it out" its better to go with the lingerie , you can go with her to pick it. Good Luck
You should pick it out yourself, but ask what kind of lingerie she likes.
If you aren’t sure of the size, I wouldn’t do a gift card. Put in the effort to actually go through and get her something. Gift cards can be very impersonal. On a holiday that is supposed to be very personal, don’t get something that gives your girlfriend the vibe that you didn’t feel like putting in the effort. Even if that isn’t the case, she may thing it was. I would try another gift that you are more sure of.
It really depends on how long you and her have been going out, if you two are having sex already and whether or not she even likes lingerie.
Here is the thing, lingerie tends to be more for the man, than for the woman. Valentine’s Day is one of the few holidays you can really get away with that, since it’s basically a sexy holiday.
If you’ve been going out for awhile and you’re already sexual, then it’s probably alright. If you haven’t, then I’d avoid it. It just sends the wrong message. Yeah, Valentine’s Day is a sexy holiday, but you don’t want her to think you only want her for her body. If you’ve already been sexual, then it’s fine. She already knows you care.
As for size, you may want to just glance at her sizes and try to figure it out. For most stuff, you really only need to know cup size. So like 34B or 36C, that sort of thing. You may need to know small, medium or large, but you can kinda guess on that. When in doubt, just as the salesperson and describe her. They’re usually good at helping you figure-out sizes.
A gift-card isn’t good for this. Why? Think about it. You’d give it to her on Valentine’s day, and the outfit is for that night. That doesn’t work. When you give a gift-card, it’s usually for stuff people will buy at a later time, like a restaurant, Bestbuy, Walmart or Borders. Lingerie is really meant for that night. Also, you need to be careful where and when she opens a present like that. Obviously, you want to give it to her earlier in the day. Think about presenting it to her in the morning. That way, she isn’t caught off guard and she has time to prepare. She doens’t want you to just shove it in her face and say, here, put this on now. Give her some time. Also, for heaven’s sake, don’t give it to her in a crowded place like a restaurant. I’ve actually known guys who pulled that, and it’s a great way to really ruin a date and embarress her.
Understand, that by giving her this gift, you’re basically asking her to wear it and have sex with you, probably that night. That’s the meaning behind the gift.
If you really want to win her over, I’d actually suggest warm pajamas, a nightgown or a bathrobe. We’re talking about February, which is one of the coldest months of the year and instead of offering her clothes that are really thin and show a lot of skin, you may want to consider clothes that keep her warm. I once gave a woman flannel pajamas, new flannel sheets, slippers, a bathrobe and earlier that morning, I put her towel in the dryer while she was taking a shower, so it would be extra warm when she got out. Oh, we still made passionate love that night, but she was nice and warm. It’s just something to consider. That, and pajamas and robes are much easier to size, then lingerie.
