When I look for cards and gift ideas for them alot of things seem to stop at ’50th’ anniversary – I cant buy them anything like a day trip out anywhere, Because my Grandad has Alzheimer’s, and with that he cant ‘behave’ himself properly. (what I mean by that is he is very inappropriate at times, ie, Blowing his nose into napkins and staring at the contents while sat in the middle of posh restaurants) I cant even say they have had a ‘loving 60 years of marriage’ My nan gets seriously depressed about having to look after him, and she gets annoyed at his dirty habits which are mainly caused by his Alzheimer’s. I cant get them something like a photo frame or album filled with pictures of all the family and friends over the years as my mum got my nan a digital photo frame with all those sorts of pictures on for her 80th birthday earlier this year…I cant afford to pay for them to go on Holiday together, not that they would like that anyway as neither of them can walk much due to arthritis. And a party is out of the question as they only have very very few friends and we have a small family, plus neither of them like party atmosphere’s..

Its just the two of them, If it helps anyone think of anything they are currently in the process of moving home. They have lived in their bungalow in Crewe for the last 57years, and are moving 80miles away to live in the same town as my mum and dad and me, as my nan feel’s she is missing out on my son growing up and I have another baby due in 10weeks and she doesnt want to miss her growing up too! She is renting when she moves here as her house hasnt sold yet so I cant even pay for anything in the house to be done for them. And she is having to get rid of loads of ornaments and things as she has more of them than she has space to store them!!

Any suggestions?
