I need/want to sell my engagement ring but don’t know where I would get the best price? It’s worth 24k and I want to sell it fast. Money is needed.

I am the matron of honor for my best friend’s wedding and will be throwing her a wedding shower soon. The problem is she is getting married in another state and will not be comeing home to see family any time during the 10 months before her wedding. So, I have decided to throw her a "getting started" wedding shower while she is down here, even though it is so early. Anyway, she and her fiance’ have been living together for a while, so they pretty much have everything they need, they also don’t have a registry ready yet since the wedding is over a year away. I was thinking of a money shower or a gift card shower to the places they will be registering for the couple since they arn’t quite sure what they want yet. Any ideas on how to word this or ideas for a party that would suite them at this point in their wedding planning? Maybe an engagement/wedding shower?

I need to find invitations for my upcomming bridal shower without spending a lot of money. Help ?

Quick summary…a situation with sister-in-law and her fiance….within the past year, these people have
-moved into a new house (we helped them move, paint, decorate, gave them various "hand-me-downs")
-attended their house warming party- with gift
-attended their engagement party (with gift after being directed to a registry), declined "chipping in" for the engagement party
-have given 2 birthday presents and 2 christmas gifts to the small child of future BIL, who is from a previous relationship
-just received invite to bridal shower with registry gift
-obligated to split cost of bachelor party
-wedding gift
and now we are just informed of their intentions to be pregnant ASAP after wedding. I am already dreading the baby shower, birth, etc
I feel bad for feeling this way, I mean we can afford it if we budget for it but money is tight. And I think its more of the point that it seems like its just all about them. More more more. I have hosted 2 charity events this year and sent them invites (the cost to attend was about each time) and they were both ignored. What am I supposed to do here? Suck it up and keep the family peace? It just seems never ending, like when does this gravy train stop? We don’t do anything socially with these two and they dont acknowledge out birthdays or anything. Should I just cut them some slack for being a bit self-absorbed right now?
Advice please!! NO one else in the family has mentioned that this is too much.

My best friend is getting married this Saturday. Throughout the planning process I have spent a lot of money, I added it up to about 0 that I don’t have. I am still in debt from borrowing from my mom for dress alterations, the dress itself and the I needed for even attending the Bachelorette party, not to mention gifts and buying drinks for the bride. My balance is .33 in my checking account. I am a substitute teacher so I don’t have consistent income. I can pay my bills…but anything more than that is incredibly tight. I got her a decor sign that says "Always Kiss Me Goodnight" to give to her on her wedding day and was planning on borrowing more money to give 0, because that is the standard wedding gift. A few people have told me that being in the wedding IS the gift for her but I feel I need to give her that money if not more because she is my best friend.

What is the standard type of gift for a Maid of Honor to give to the Bride? Do the bridal party give money or is the money the bridal party spent on the dresses, etc considered the gift? Please help!

•Funny memory’s, he had an unhealthy addiction for playing with hovers’ weather his toy hovers or a temper tantrums to play with the neighbours hover when visiting , or playing by himself as a teenager impersonating jonnie 5. And then the memories that would indicate his sexuality which was then clearly missed e.g. His school achieve folder turned into a spice girl’s memorial catalogue, or dressing his cousins then as the spice girls.

I’m on a tight budget for my wedding in July 2008. I have been looking for very cheap bridesmaid dresses, since I plan to spend more money on my gown and photographer. I was told by a few people that bridesmaids pay for their own dresses, however both I and my mother think that it would be rude to ask them to. I have found a great bridesmaid dress online for only that I would like all of them to wear.
Should I ask them to buy their own? And if so, how should I ask so I don’t sound rude?

Hi, Does anyone know if reception halls in Long Island would be more expensive then maybe New Jersey, Im on a tight budget and Im looking to have a small wedding maybe about 50-60 people, and Im trying to spend like per person, I seen the douglaston manor but im not sure how much they are, I just want some were beautiful and that has great food for little money lol I know what im looking for is hard but please if anyone maybe has been to or knows of a place please let me know, thank you

I am the MOH for my friend and I am the one who has to throw the shower. I just don’t want to spend a lot of money. I don’t have a lot to spend. She on the other hand is having a K wedding!! I don’t know what to do. She was thinking about doing a co-ed shower and if so that would mean even more people to feed. I need help. What is appropriate? I want to do this for my friend, but between the dress, shoes and wrap that we have to buy not to mention my hair and her gift, that will be 0-250!! I don’t know how much I should spend? I mean I have to do both the bridal shower and the bachelorette party! Oh and the other bridesmaids don’t live in this state and the one that does is unemployed! I did talk to her and she said it doesn’t have to be a big deal but I think she may have just said that to be nice. What should I do? How much should I spend on the parties? Thank you!!

I would just like to know what the difference is in having a wedding reception or having a dinner dance instead, i know the dinner dance is cheaper and Im trying to save some money. Can you wear your wedding dress though if you have a dinner dance?

I am in need of some advice. I am having a wedding next weekend. We are trying to save money so I think I might make the cake. Does anyone have any ideas? Please don’t just go online and pick something. I am really asking for personal experience. Some creative idea for a cake to be served at the reception. Some hit desert you make every now and then. Something you have actually MADE before and it turned out fabulous. What did you do? How can I make it?

I’m trying to save money. I have a cousin in law who drives limos so I figured I would rent a limo from somewhere and just ask him to drive.

I’m having a signature plate in place as a guest book at my wedding. Are they specially made plates or can I get just any plate I see fit? I’m planning on at least buying a special marker or two but I was hoping to save some money on the actual plate (cheapest Ive seen is 20 dollars at wal-mart). If it matters, I’m only planning on having 70 attendants or so. Any advice?

Ok so im not sure if im just being crazy or a jealous person…My husband and I have been together for 2 years now. We have an amazing relationship, but there is one problem…his sister who is 24 years old. When we were planning our wedding she asked me ONE time how the wedding plans were going out of the six months of planning. Also, she txt my husband, her brother, and told him how pissed she was that she wasn’t in the wedding. (we had a small wedding my BFF and my sister where the only ones i asked to be maides of honor) It was nothing against her and i told her that we were just trying to keep it as small as possible. I didnt even ask my four other BFF from high school to be brides maides or anything. So, we talked and everything was fine, so i thought. Then she tells her parents and my husband this "I dont even want to go to their f**king wedding if Dan (her bf that stole from my stepbrother and stole money out of my friends house) cant come" So, she ended up coming without Dan to the wedding. At my bridal shower she told me that she was going to give me a used college book i needed for school as my gift. I thought that was really crappy bc she was doing it to be mean. Because once again she wanted Dan to come to the bridal shower ever though it was ONLY GIRLS. So now moving on to why i believe she has some weirdness about her brother, my husband. Whenever we are around her she will hug him A LOT…not just a hug like oh yay im so happy to see you, more like a holding you tightly hug. She will kiss him on his head and cheek, play with his hair, rub his chest, talk about sexual things with her boyfriend to him and her dad! One time we were at the mall and my husband tried on a jacket and she went behind him, put her hands in the jacket pockets and started rubbing his chest. At my bridal shower my mom just told me that she was hugging my husband and she was looking around to see if i was looking at them. My mom said my back was turned to them so she let go. NOTE: my mom knew nothing of me thinking that she had a thing for her brother. My mom just thought it was very strange. I told her that i was thinking the samething about her and it even makes my suspicion more true, i believe. She will also wear booty shorts and will try wrestling with my husband, which maybe thats normal i only had a sister so i dont know how weird that is. Ok, only 2 more things that really stick out in my mine…I went on a family vacation with my husbands family. My husband and I were kissing bc we are in love, and she would try and push us apart and tell us how gross it was, yet she will talk about sexual stuff with her bfs?? And when we picked her up from the airport my husband went to help her with her bags and she jumped on him, gave him a front way hug and wrapped her legs around him!! Oh last thing, promise! When we were planning the wedding she said she felt like she was losing her brother and how close they use to be and she didnt understand why just them two couldnt hang out without me?? My husband told me that they never were even close and he doesnt know why she was saying that. Is all this weird? I dont know what to do i need some advice please
P.s. The sister in law also asked me how big her brothers penis was!? Now I think that is REALLY SICK

We married in Vegas a week ago. We made keepsake boxes for 20 of our guests flying to Vegas for a vacation wedding. The boxes included 2 disposible cameras. One was to be used for the ceremony and one to capture memories from their vacation. We took 19 cameras to get developed and when the prints came back 14 of the rolls were totally unrecognizable. One roll was from a disposible camera that was a different brand than the other 14 rolls and 4 rolls were from my sisters camera, they came out fine. On the 14 rolls that were ruined it was obvious from the prints that the flash was defective. The cameras were all the same brand, came in a 3 pack and were bought at separate times and from different stores. We got our money back for the cameras and we got all the prints for free. We are totally devastated and we are going to ask the company for the maximum amount allowed in a small claims court which is ,000. Disposibles should be reliable!! Do we have a strong enough case? HELP!!!

Me…I walked to the middle of the Golden Gate Bridge and threw it over the side. No desire to pass it on to anyone…Did’nt like the thought of keeping it…not a memory that warms my heart…I did’nt want to make any money off of it by selling or melting it down . . . The thought that did please me was the ring doing some good by being some ‘ glitter ‘ for ocean bay critters to swim around in and over time beautiful ocean water crustration melding to it…I love the ocean and the City.

To keep it as a keepsake or to make any money off of it did not appeal to me.

I guess another thought would have been to melt it down…get the money and give it to some woman’s shelter to do some good there.

Knowing it’s out at the ocean bay…at the G.G. Bridge pleases me.

To " Just a f (riend) " . . . No not bitter…just sad. I was married 23 yrs…divorced 4 yrs. now…I’m the one who expressed idea for divorce…not sorry. My kids are with him this weekend (ages 14 and 17)…I’m just really missing my kids today…Easter weekend…nice memories of Easter with them…Going out soon to get my fav. soup and then on to a movie…Tomorrow will be spending it off playing with a dear friend. Not bitter…just a bit sad today. Such is life…it happens…and life DOES go on…and we do still smile. I like the thought of my ring being at the S.F. Bay with all the ocean critters swimming through it.

We are on a tight budget with our wedding, and since we are paying for it ourselves, we need to save money everywhere we possibly can. Our wedding cake topper is very important to us since it sort of personifies who we are as a couple, but we can’t go all extravagant with our spending. Where is the best place to find wedding cake toppers, but at a good price?

Our photographer did a poor job on our wedding pics (way too dark, no outside pics, not many posed pics of us) It’s too late to get money back or do anything with that photog.

My husband has offered to have them retaken by another photographer. It is our 1 year anniversary coming up and it would just be the two of us getting all dressed up again and doing a bunch of different outdoor shots. What do you think of this?

we are not using a dj….our friend needs help with prom (money) so we have employed her……just need a few ideas and I have googled I just didnt know of maybe some songs I havent heard of?

My neice was married last June and we just didn’t have the money at the time to buy a gift and we couldn’t atttend the wedding because of my husbands job. (quite a long distance to travel) At the time we looked at the bridal registry and there just wasn’t anything we could afford on it. We have 4 children of our own and my husband is a teacher. In the past when we have given gifts to her and her sister, they have asked…"is this all?" I know their other relatives give many expensive gifts to them. I want to give them something but I feel cheap sending a gift card for , which is really all we can afford? Would you send it or just go on with life and spend it on your own kids?
