I tried googling this but couldn’t find much about it. Does anyone know if the groom’s mother can accompany me in picking out a wedding gown and bridesmaid dresses? My mom and sister are going and i’m also close with his parents so i wanted to ask her. i’m just not sure about the etiquette on this one. Thanks everyone =]

Ok so im not sure if im just being crazy or a jealous person…My husband and I have been together for 2 years now. We have an amazing relationship, but there is one problem…his sister who is 24 years old. When we were planning our wedding she asked me ONE time how the wedding plans were going out of the six months of planning. Also, she txt my husband, her brother, and told him how pissed she was that she wasn’t in the wedding. (we had a small wedding my BFF and my sister where the only ones i asked to be maides of honor) It was nothing against her and i told her that we were just trying to keep it as small as possible. I didnt even ask my four other BFF from high school to be brides maides or anything. So, we talked and everything was fine, so i thought. Then she tells her parents and my husband this "I dont even want to go to their f**king wedding if Dan (her bf that stole from my stepbrother and stole money out of my friends house) cant come" So, she ended up coming without Dan to the wedding. At my bridal shower she told me that she was going to give me a used college book i needed for school as my gift. I thought that was really crappy bc she was doing it to be mean. Because once again she wanted Dan to come to the bridal shower ever though it was ONLY GIRLS. So now moving on to why i believe she has some weirdness about her brother, my husband. Whenever we are around her she will hug him A LOT…not just a hug like oh yay im so happy to see you, more like a holding you tightly hug. She will kiss him on his head and cheek, play with his hair, rub his chest, talk about sexual things with her boyfriend to him and her dad! One time we were at the mall and my husband tried on a jacket and she went behind him, put her hands in the jacket pockets and started rubbing his chest. At my bridal shower my mom just told me that she was hugging my husband and she was looking around to see if i was looking at them. My mom said my back was turned to them so she let go. NOTE: my mom knew nothing of me thinking that she had a thing for her brother. My mom just thought it was very strange. I told her that i was thinking the samething about her and it even makes my suspicion more true, i believe. She will also wear booty shorts and will try wrestling with my husband, which maybe thats normal i only had a sister so i dont know how weird that is. Ok, only 2 more things that really stick out in my mine…I went on a family vacation with my husbands family. My husband and I were kissing bc we are in love, and she would try and push us apart and tell us how gross it was, yet she will talk about sexual stuff with her bfs?? And when we picked her up from the airport my husband went to help her with her bags and she jumped on him, gave him a front way hug and wrapped her legs around him!! Oh last thing, promise! When we were planning the wedding she said she felt like she was losing her brother and how close they use to be and she didnt understand why just them two couldnt hang out without me?? My husband told me that they never were even close and he doesnt know why she was saying that. Is all this weird? I dont know what to do i need some advice please
P.s. The sister in law also asked me how big her brothers penis was!? Now I think that is REALLY SICK

I am getting remarried next year. I still use my ex-husband’s last name as my legal last name. I do not want to use his last name on my wedding invites, however many people know me by this last name. Can I just skip putting a last name on the invitations and just use my first and middle name? I have seen people do this, but it is usually when the parents are paying for the wedding and doing the invitations. This is not the case for my wedding.

the brides parents are supposed to pay for most of the wedding, and mine Suck!
how do i thank my parents in my wedding speech, they didn’t pay for anything and didn’t help with anything,
i dont wanna make myself look bad, but then again i dont wanna say anything that i dont mean
its not necessarily the monetary value, which sucks, they didnt participate didnt offer to help and with anything.. and they were shitty parents growing up too… UGH!!! my wedding is in 9 days and this is the last thing that should be stressing me out

I’m working on my wedding programs and I would like to add some additional, personal touches to my programs–which are book-like. They have about five pages. I like this idea because I feel like it will give my guests something to read while waiting for the ceremony to begin. Also, it will be a nice memento, I think.

Currently, I have a brief paragraph about each member of the wedding party (how we met, a brief anecdote about our interactions together, what they’re doing now). A page about how my almost-husband and I met. What my old, new, borrowed, and blues are. Our plans post wedding (where we’ll be living, where we will be honeymooning.).
Is there any other thing I might add?
Well… thank you for the advice–but my marriage isn’t "most marriages." I’m not going into my vows with the attitude that it’s going to be over in 5 years. His parents have been married for 40 years, and mine have been married for almost 30. Statistically, we’re in the clear.

My parents will be celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary next week.So as I will be the organizer I want it to be a memorable party.Huge crowd will be there.lol…arnd 30 ppl…So mainly I want game ideas.Tell me abt the full details of the games, how they r played etc…This party will b held in a hotel so tell me wat all can I expect from the hotel management?More ideas are appreciated.No Alcoholic drinks will be served so tell me which drinks are good.Guests of all ages will be invited.

I am making my wedding programs & I keep getting confused on who I should list & in what order?
My programs are only going to be half a sheet of paper, so I need to try & keep it simple, but I don’t want to leave anything out either…
I know you are supposed to list the parents/grandparents in like the order they walk down (which I have no idea what order they will be in yet) my parents may not even be there, only one gma will be there, and my soon to be husband’s mom & stepdad, dad & stepmom will be there. Also, should I list how we know the wedding party? (i.e. Bridesmaid…Sister of Groom) or should I just list their names?
Is it optional to not even list parents/grandparents… because I’m not sure who is all going to be attending & which order they will walk down… or is that disrespectful?
Any opinions???

We have purchased gifts for our wedding party (bridesmaids, groomsmen, flower girls, ushers, guest book and program attendant, parents of the bride, and mother of the groom). However, we do not know what to buy the groom’s father…?

my uncle is getting married next summer and my husband and I, along withh my parents and my brother and his girlfriend are all travelling the 18hour car ride to go tho the wedding. I was thinking as a gift I would make him a homemade photo album for the wedding…I make really nice silk covered albums. is this a nice gift to give him? this is his 3rd wedding…(his future wifes 4th) so they arent registering and I know he would not accept money or a fancy gift from me and hubby (he would never take money from his neices or nephews like that) my parents are also going to give either a nice gift or some money from all of us, but is a photo album a nice gift from me and hubby?
I’m not even sure if they are having a photographer, but even if they are, there is a 2 day party after the wedding at her parents cottage so there will be plenty of pictures from that to put in there.

There is a girl in my college who was supposed to be getting married in June. However, the wedding has now been indefinately postponed because her fiance cannot find a job and her parents will not allow them to marry until he does.

Graduation weekend is coming up, and they apparently want to have a bridal shower for her before her college friends graduate and leave…however, I’m worried about the etiquette for this since there is no actual date set?

Well, my parents arent around… so now what? Who hosts it now?

I have lots of parents and I love them all! I am getting married and I want my wedding invitations to include my mom and her same-sex partner, my dad and his wife, and my fiancé’s parents. What type of wording would I use for this?

my fiances ex wife (divorced for 3 1/2 years) still wears her engagement ring and wedding ring.
my fiance and I went on a mini trip with his family (his son, brothers, sisters, aunt, uncles, and his parents) to Niagra Falls Canada. we came thursday and we will be here until next friday. his ex came too since he had a little boy with her (4 years old) and shes still good friends with the family.
but when all of us were at the pool yesterday i noticed her tattoo on her lower back which is my fiance’s name. i dont expect her to get rid of it because i know its probably expensive and painful but they hate eachother..and they dont talk unless its involving their son.
the next thing i saw was that shes still wearing her diamond engagement ring and her wedding band on her left ring finger. i asked him if shes with someone and hes like no those were the rings i bought her. he said its weird that she wears them but he says she loves the diamond since its 2 carat.
is this normal?
dont they usually give back eachother’s rings if they get legally divorced?

If so, how far in advance of the wedding are you getting it?
My wedding is less than 5 months away, on April 17th. I just got the call today that my dress and veil already came into the bridal store (Yay! I ordered them together, for them to match.) Problem is, I won’t get to try on my gown with the veil until New Year’s, because it is in my parents’ town in NH and I live in NY and won’t be going up there until then.
My question is, should I get my tiara now so that I could have it for my dress and veil fitting, and see how everything looks together?
I don’t want to spend a lot on the tiara, was just going to get one of those cheapie fake ones for like 20 bucks. Will it yellow or rust if I get it this far in advance of the wedding day? What do you think? Anyone else have this problem?

My caterer told my mom and I that the bride’s parents (or the organizers of the reception) would be held responsible if a driver had an accident when the alcohol was provided at the event. Is this true? What are some ways to protect ourselves if this is the case?
The wedding will be held in Texas.

Also, we are not planning on having an official bartender unless it is absolutely necessary.

my parents were going to get a divorce, but they worked put there problems and they are having a vow renewal. i need to find a fancy dresses that doesn’t cost a lot.
P.S. the vow renewal is going to be on a beach so i would appreciate it if the dress was short.

How do we give gifts to the bridal party and parents at our rehearsal dinner? Should we do it during toasts or privately? What did you do?
