Some people never reply and expect you to be mindreaders as to whether they are attending or not. My grandma was always like that. After May 1, you get on the phone with whoever didn’t reply and find out if they are coming or not so that you have an accurate count for your caterer.
Well you have to think that most people need at least a week to decide and/or make arrangements to come to the wedding…plus mailing time. It usually takes me about two weeks before I send my rsvp cards back, just because life gets in the way.
They still have a week to go anyways.
Hopefully by May 3!!! lol – (kind of NOT kidding…)
People usually wait til the latest possible moment (except close family usually) in case plans change for them with work, family, etc.
I know you’re eager, but they should start coming in soon.
Yu did not give people enough time. I sent mine out 30 days prior to the rsvp date.
OK – let’s just do the math. If you sent them out about 1.5 weeks ago, it was 4/14 – a Monday… the post office didn’t get them sorted and delivered till 4/16 or 4/17 – Wednesday or Thursday… People didn’t get a chance to reply till Saturday, 4/18… The post office is closed on Sunday, so the replies weren’t processed till Monday…. so you should get some starting today or tomorrow.
Good luck, and Congratulations!
You should start to get some RSVP’s soon. But May 1st was a bit soon. Did you mean June 1st?
Rule of thumb is if you don’t get a RSVP back from those your expecting to come, call about 2 weeks before the wedding and ask politely what their plans where..
Good luck!
