How to secure my wedding band to my engagement ring without soldering them together?

Asked by: admin Wedding Music

I don’t want it to be permanent, just wondering if anyone has had luck with any adhesives or other long-term but removable solutions.

I understand your question. Yes, there are wire sizers that can be bent around your rings to hold them together but that is not what they are designed for and will not give the best result.

The fixture that you need is a curved plate that has 2 indentions in it and it has a mate. One goes on the inside of your rings and the other goes on the outside and they are secured with two tiny flat headed screws. Your jeweler may have to order the clamp because rings come in so many thicknesses.

    Duct tape.

Why don’t you want your marriage to be permanent?

Soldering can be undone by a jeweler. I have mine soldered together and they look terrific. You can’t even tell just by looking at them and it makes them last so much longer.

They have little "ring guard" things that can be attached to the bottom part of the ring. It kinda wraps around the bottom of the two rings, binding them together. It can be removed by clipping it off.

They make little plastic things that go around your ring to make it fit tighter. You could use one around both rings to hold them together.

There is always duct tape. Solder can also always be disconnected.

Your jeweller can put a small gold/silver band around the two to keep them together, he could solder it or not, in any case it wouldn’t affect the rings and it would be reversable at any time. The band should be at the back of your hand so it wouldn’t show. I advise against using superglue, it could damage certain stones and pearls for sure, and the fact that being in direct contact with your skin can’t be good.
