good day, you can do what i did. honestly your paying for the labor to put the pictures together and give it to you in a album, if yu dont mind printing the photos yourself and putting your own wedding album together (you basically get all the pictures on cd-roms). i used this proffesional photograper and he charged us 1k for 8hrs. he also retouched 10 pictures for us. The pictures were really great and i found it convinient to omit any of the pictures i did want to add to my album. ok i did take me a couple of days but for $1,500 in savings it was worth it.
we were able to make cards to mail out to our guests and to others that couldnt make it.

You could check with a nearby college and see if a student is willing to take on the project!
You might even advertise to newer photographers looking to build their portfolio. State in the ad what you’re willing to pay and see if you have any takers.
One thing I always remind about budget photographer shoppers… You can’t expect the quality and value of a $2500 photographer from a budget photographer. So… don’t complain if it’s not everything you hoped for. You’re not paying for that. ; )
$2000 is quite reasonable.
You are not paying for 3-4 hours of the photog’s time at the ceremony. You are paying for 30-40 hours of postprocessing workflow, handholding, and dealing with bridezilla and the monster of the bride.
Have a look at this website and do a search in your area and look at the photographers portfolios and if there are some you like contact them and see what they can do for you.
