Feeding the wedding photographer etiquete?

I’m getting married next month. Please share with me your experiences of feeding your wedding photographer. Would it be okay to sit him along with the other guests?

    Photographers, videographers, musicians and DJs are not supposed to sit with your wedding guests . . they are paid wedding service providers. You can ask the banquet manager to sit them in a seperate room, away from the guests while they eat dinner, OR they can have they a seperate table in one of the corners of the reception room. Also, you do not have to purchase "a full meal" for the photographer. Many restaurants will provide "a smaller and simpler meal" for photographers and DJs (like a club sandwich and a soda).     I have shot photos for weddings, you should spend time with your photographer beforehand and get comfortable around them. You should let them have a drink or eat but usually the photographer doesn’t take a break because the best photos come unexpectedly!

    The photog should be professional enough to NOT do that. Let him/her sneak some food, but his job is not to enjoy himself, it’s to get the shot, which isn’t easy, it’s one of the highest pressure jobs out there. Keep the photog away from the booze, as well.

    For my wedding I fed both photographers. If they are going to be working for you all day, then they dont have time to go somewhere and eat. so I think it is only polite to feed them. And they should also be fine sitting at a table with other guests, as long as they dont miss any good pics of you while they are eating!!

    If you are hiring a vendor that is staying with you for at least 4 hours, you should really feed them. It’s not necessary, but it’s a nice gesture since they can’t really leave your event to take a lunch break. If cost is an issue (maybe you don’t want to include your photographer in on your fillet Mignon dinner) then ask your caterer for a different option for your vendors (you should probably include your DJ also if you’re having one). As far as if they should sit with the guests, that’s completely up to you. If it’s going to be an issue with your seating plan, look for a backup location for them to eat. Maybe you can have them set up in the kitchen or in a separate area of your dining hall. If you are still in doubt, talk it over with your photographer. Good luck and congratulations!

    Mine simply sat herself at a table in the corner & told us before hand to come get her if we needed anything. At other weddings I’ve been to, vendors have just sit with the guest & such.

    I am a wedding photographer and in my experiences I do not eat at weddings. you have paid the photographer to be there for a set number of hours so in my opinion they should always be ready for more pictures! Are you paying him or her to eat no you are paying them to makesure they get every angle and every aspect of your wedding!!!
