Why don't women wear their wedding rings anymore ?

Asked by: admin Wedding Rings

I have noticed lately that many married women do not wear their wedding rings. I was interested in this woman and it turns out I found out she is married, but never wears her wedding ring. Which after asking a couple of women out, I find out they are married ! Is this a new trend ? Am I missing something here ?

Whoever this woman is, she clearly doesn’t define the average married woman. Majority of married woman do wear their rings. Where are you when you are asking these women out? A bar or something? Has it ever occurred to you that they are just telling you that they are married as a way of breaking it to you gently? I’d bet they aren’t married at all…

There are plenty of men and women who wear their wedding rings. I don’t always wear mine, as it gets in the way at work.

Sometimes it’s a work related issue, sometimes people just don’t wear rings. The ring doesn’t make you married. Plenty of cheaters wear their wedding rings.

how else could they have affairs? it’s only the single chicks that wear wedding rings these days, to discourage the dudes from hitting on them?

either they are not married cause women aren’t getting married like they used to.,or they are trying to get rid of you.

It maybe depends on the type of ring. My mum and dad have been married for 20 years and still wear their wedding rings. However my mum doesnt wear her engagement ring as it has a diomand in it that sticks up and scratches and as she works with the elderly they scratch easily so shes not allowed to wear it at work. Either that or they’re lying to you. Hope this helps.

I love wearing my wedding ring, but honestly it scratches my daughter all the time! I always feel bad! So I usually don’t wear it unless I’m going out somewhere, but even then sometimes I forget to put it on! Also, I can’t wear it at work because I work with babies and it scratches them too!

I don’t know. I’ve never noticed that. I ALWAYS wear my ring. The only time I take it off is when I’m like cooking or getting my hands dirty, because I don’t want it to get dirty. But I always wear it at home and when I go out somewhere. It shows alot of respect.

    Nice one..
    Hmmm..
According to me, that’s kind of a subjective question rather than some sort of a "new trend".
You see, there could be so many reasons.
First, it could be that some women wouldn’t like to expose their relationship status.
That provides them with some kind of psychological comfort and freedom.
In this way, no man would be biased on the fact that she is already married.
Now, in this case, it could be like the woman prefers the discrecy of her marriage in order to be judged as any single lady.
For some, being married can be equated to getting old, having a monotonous routine life or even being concealed behind the portrait of the devoted caring wife managing her household, hubby and kids.
Well, that’s associated to the "loss of freedom" syndrome once experiences after marriage.
Moreover, women in themselves have this phobia of getting worn-out and wrinkled.. This "I am no longer young & charming" disease rages in their mind so much so that, in the most innocent of cases, it’s always comforting and reassuring to know that a guy is interested in you or finds you charming enough (even though- or shall we say thankfully- he thinks you are single).
That’s for the most innocent of cases of course.
In the other extreme, I bet many can guess what that implies.
The reason for a woman not wanting her marriage to be known could be numerous and distinct.
You could avoid wearing your ring to keep your marital commitment private, to feel good in your shoes, to appreciate your liberty of being judged irrespective of your age or relationship status or to set a bait for preys…

I don’t wear ANY rings because I am an embalmer and it’s a health hazzard for me to wear a ring because there’s a risk of it tearing the gloves I have to wear. Lots of women AND men don’t wear rings because of the type of work they do.
