Options for the toast if wedding is non alcoholic?

Asked by: admin Wedding Toast

My fiance and I both do not drink, and we are not going to have alcohol at our wedding. We were brainstorming ideas for the toast, and came up with a pretty funny one: serving coke to everyone! Not just a glass of coke, but one of those glass bottles, the 200mL ones. They’re so cute, and we think it would be quite funny and suiting to our personalities. But really though, would that be "cute" or just plain stupid? Even though we like the idea we’re still debating whether or not we will actually do it at our wedding.
I’d like to hear others opinions.

    I think it’ll be better if you serve alcoholic drink and non alcoholic drink, then let the guest choose which they like to drink.

    Let your guests toast with what they are already drinking. But the Coke sounds like an adorable idea.

    People would just use whatever they happen to have in their glasses.
    Otherwise, you can have non-alcoholic sparking wine. A different idea would be to have Italian soda.
    Some of these may depend upon the number of guests you are having, too.

    But, hey, I love the coke idea – if you could get a great deal on a wholesale price.

    Those bottles are cute! What an interesting idea. I wouldn’t call it "stupid".

    If it’s more of an idea of what you would have instead of Champagne, I think it would be nice to have as a favor, but I’m not sure about having it for a toast. You can run into issues such as people who cannot drink it, do not like it, etc.

    My best suggestion would be to go with sparkling cider. Gives people the festive feel like Champagne, but is not alcoholic.

    Good luck!

    It’s you and your fiance’s wedding, so therefore you make to rules!
    I don’t think that’s corny, it’s a great idea if you both agree on it.
    I don’t drink either, and when I get married I was thinking mabe sparkling apple cider or something like that. Coke is a new one to me, I never even thought of just having recular soda for my wedding, Neat! :)

    I wish you the best of luck, and I hope your day is really special and that you enjoy it!

    Its cute..haha..

    buts its good to have a variety..and it really depends on the theme of ur wedding..for a more formal wedding..those sparkling drinks(be it apple or grapes) should be good..they are non-alcoholic and they also come in the smaller 200 to 300 ml sizes..

    That is a cute idea. But do have water or juice available for those who don’t drink soft drinks.

    You could have grape juice. In Jewish weddings, grape juice is acceptable for the ceremony if one doesn’t want the other "fruit of the vine." Sparkling cider as mentioned above is also an excellent option. A lot of people don’t drink soft drinks as they’re so unhealthy, so some of that coke might go to waste.

    Sounds kinda silly to me, but do whatever you want.
    I’d just use sparkling cider and not give the guests anything to toast with. Or, give them sparkling cider as well.

    LOL, that sounds like a great idea!! These days weddings are more about making it personal and meaningful to you then following tradition!!

    If you needed something in a champagne glass you could do something like lemon, lime and bitters, sparkling apple cider or here is a recipe for non-alcoholic champage

    When I graduated from high school, each student got a coke bottle that was customized with the year. Maybe you can find a way to have custom soda bottles printed. I quickly searched and found this: http://www.myjones.com/ You can upload a photo of you and your fiance. It would be so cute!

    If that fits you guys, I’d say go with it. It’s the touches like that that your guests will remember when they think about your wedding.

    I went to a wedding once that did this! The wedding was in a dry county so alcohol was a big no-no. They had glass bottled cokes for everyone. It was really neat and a lot classier than the usual punch bowl seen at most weddings here. I would recommend a variety of drinks though for those who do not like coke; and even bottled waters.

    Hi

    It seems like a really great idea if you’re having an outdoor wedding party and the atmosphere is casual. If it is more formal affair I would get some creative ideas on how to serve a non-alcoholic champagne drink! Here is a great recipe a friend of mine served at her daughter’s wedding recently!

    5 Litres (change servings and units)
    Change to: Litres US Metric Close

    Ingredients

    * 2 liters white grape juice (for a more intense flavour use 2 cans white grape juice frozen concentrate)
    * 1 liter apple juice
    * 2 liters ginger ale
    * ice, ring
    * 1 liter apple juice or white grape juice (or less)
    * water

    Directions

    The night before, or sooner, place the apple juice in the ice ring mold and fill with water.

    If you want your ice ring to last longer 1/2 the apple juice and the rest water as juice tends to take less time to thaw.

    To serve, mix rest of ingredients in punch bowl and add ice ring.

    All the guests really enjoyed it

    Regards

    I like the idea! I wouldn’t worry about having anything else. Even if you offer champagne you will have some who don’t like it. I have found that people will toast with anything they have at the moment. So, go for it and don’t worry about trying to please anybody but you and your husband to be.
