What kind of fun things did you do at your wedding reception?
I’ve thought about having a limbo at my wedding reception? I want it to be fun!!! Of course there will be dancing and a dj there. But, what other things could I do, to make it more enjoyable for everyone? How about a trivia thing? Also, I don’t want a dollar dance. Thanks!!
My fiance owns a martial arts school, so we have an unlimited number of ninjas. So for our wedding, we’re going to have a few friends dress up like ninjas, and come in back flipping and cartwheeling, and do a small punching/blocking demo with me (I can’t move too much, in a dress/heels) and then they’ll kidnap me. The bridesmaids and groomsman go around after with a basket/shoe/hat, etc and collect "ransom" to get me back. The groom is supposted to match the ransom.
Also, sticking a card under one chair at a table and whoever ends up sitting at that chair, finds out at the end of the night that they can take home the centerpiece.
3rd thing is having personalized fortune cookies for our wedding favors. I saw these and just loved them. A friend of mine got some a while back, and they were a hit. I found them at http://www.fortuneweddingfavors.com . I found they had the best price.
that sounds fun. Don’t plan it..just do it. If you play the right music..the fun will just come.
If DJ is talented and can ‘feel’ when the crowd needs to have a little extra ‘wow’ to the music then it’ll be great. The things you’ve said are sure to be a success.
That is too bad ur not doing the dollar dance, that is not tacky…actually. But the trivia sounds kind of funny. Our DJ said that if it gets boring and the crowd isn’t dancing, he would do some thing like that…I said..um no! Trivia is for Bridal showers…baby showers not a wedding. I told him the music has to be right. So basically the pressure is on the DJ. But there are some fun line dances you can do too…There is the Cupid shuffle, the booty call, electric slide..those are usually songs taht get people up and moving, or Ice breakers if you wanna call them that. But hope you have a great time!!!
I’m not engaged, but I went to a wedding that had Karaoke once. It was actually pretty cool. The guests were having a great time.
We had a traditional Ukrainian wedding, and the best part about the dance is the ‘kolomeyka’ – where everyone gathers in a circle on the dance floor, and individuals/small groups go to the middle to strut their stuff…
(note, this is just an example, not our wedding…)
