What kind of music should I play at the my wedding with Christian parents? Please Help!!!!!!!!!!!!?
My parents are Christians (dad is a pastor) and I’m not all that holy neither is the groom. My friends and most of my relatives are not all holy. I want to play some blue and/or rap at the reception and some soft music for the procession at the wedding, but i don’t want to insult or hurt my parents. i don’t care if it is my day, i don’t want to hurt my parents and grandmother I don’t know what to do. Please help!
If you were raised by a pastor then I’m sure he’s taken you to a christian bookstore or two growing up. Go to the CCM area of the bookstore and pick out something. I’m sure you can find something good that will have good lyrics and good music and not offend the parents/grandparents.
Or stick to secular music with good lyrics.
Rap will probably offend them. I’m banning all things rap from mine because of my respect for our grandparents and it’s very offensive to women especially if they don’t get it. R&B probably won’t offend them. Chris Brown, some Usher songs, Rhianna, Alicia Keys would probably work. Try some older music, 50s, 60s, 80s, etc. maybe for the first couple of hours. Normally, older people leave after an hour or two, so then you can turn it up a notch.
Try to get some clean versions of rap that don’t convey things that would offend them. Play wedding favorites (YMCA, the chicken dance, hokey-pokey ect..)
Haha my dads a pastor too!
Do what you want, it’s your wedding, just be mindful of the language in the songs.

when you see the site, it speaks for itself, but there is nothing that this man has made that could possiply make the most protective mother want to take her very impressionable 5 year old that repeats everything it hears out of the room.
