What would it cost to repair a wedding band that has worn thin?

My mom has had her engagement ring for over 37 years now. It’s worn quite thin now and she doesn’t wear it for fear of it breaking. Does anyone know how much it would cost to repair? I’d like to know prior to entering a jewelry store and being shocked at the price.
It’s made of white gold. Not exactly sure what k it is.

It depends on where you get it fixed and what kind it really is. My mom had her wedding band break and they fixed it like 3x and then there was a point where they said they couldn’t but since it has worn thin, they might not be able to fix it without it looking weird, go to your local jewelers and see what they say, in the end you might have to buy a new one

its about 200 includng parts and labor to replace a shank.

If you have a good pawn shop in your area that you could go to, and have a trustworthy jeweler. Then it may not be too high, here in WV it is only about 75.00 for a re-shank, and is well worth it, if you have a ring that means alot to you !
