Where to go for a cheap but nice honeymoon?
I am getting married and the honeymoon budget is limited. We really wanted to go to hawaii but not sure how much that would cost. I live in Montana and need to know a nice honeymoon spot thats affordable and not too far. Any suggestions?
Depending on what you want to do in Hawaii, you can do it for fairly cheap. Here is a layout of a simple, relaxing honeymoon without all the frills:
- Airline tickets. Depending on the time of year, this could be 1000~2000 bucks for both of you.
- Hotel costs. In Hawaii, most tourists don’t realize that renting a house will be as cheap as getting a hotel room, with more amenities. I would recommend Molokai as a great destination, because you can get away from it all and just enjoy being alone together. You can either rent an apartment by the week for roughly 400 bucks, or by the month for 900.
- Food. Hawaii has some reallllly expensive food, but if you plan to cook around the expensive items (such as milk — 9 dollars a gallon in some stores), you can actually survive just fine. Get fresh items from the farmer’s market (and since you are in an apartment, you can actually cook for yourself) and you will be fine. Eat as you would at home if you were trying to not splurge.
There are other costs to consider, as well. Do you want to rent a car, for example. Do you want to do adventure packages, etc. These are all extra costs, but certainly not necessary. If you are looking for a cheap relaxing place to go, Hawaii is affordable. You just have to plan to do it cheaply.
Aruba- That is what i do… I Have Great Package deals to Aruba..
This may be too far ? ? Martha’s Vineyard is maybe a 5 hr flight for you. But, it’s a special little island that is great for honeymoons and you can do it on a budget.
